Last Sunday, March 10 2019, I went to the Clark International Speedway for the very first time. The track hosted the second edition of the ‘Motul 300V Superfast Track Day’ with lots of supercars, sportscars and drag cars. These were all invited by Motul, a company producing high-performance motor oils and industrial lubricants, and also organiser of this trackday. In this years edition they had a Quarter Mile Run and Touge Battle.
I was very lucky to get a ride to the track from my home in Taguig in a very fast and super sexy Vorsteiner BMW M2. This beast also has some very interesting engine upgrades I was told by the super friendly owner, Paolo Mantolino.
Ride towards Clark International Speedway
After waking up at 4:15am, all excited for a day full of beautiful cars and the smell of fuel, I got picked up by Paolo around 5:45am and then headed towards the first stop near EDSA. Here the rest of the group would join to continue the ride towards Clark International Speedway.
Quarter Mile Run
Once arrived at the track we were just in time to join the parade lap, which I was happy to join as a passenger in Paolo’s BMW M2. After that, I gave both my eyes (and both my cameras) the pleasure of looking at all the cars that joined the event. And believe me, there were A LOT of awesome rides. While I enjoyed looking at all the cars that were gathered in the pitlane, on the track the battle of the fastest/quickest car went on in the Quarter Mile Run. Of course I tried to get some nice shots here as well.
Feast your eyes on Nissan GTRs, Porsches, Ferraris, McLarens (even a 570S GT4!), Aston Martins, BMWs, Lotus,… you name it, it was all there to see! Apart from that I also took some rolling shots on the way to the even and back.
